Healing That Flows Through Hands

1. What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japnese word made up of two words- Rei broadly means ‘Universal’ and Ki means ‘Life force energy’. It is is a Japanese healing technique.  Reiki was discovered by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early part of 19th century and came to be known as “Usui Shiki Ryoho” which means Usui’s Natural Healing System. This modality uses the flow of energy in the body to bring balance.

2. How does Reiki work?

There are two components to this healing modality; intention and energy. Intention creates vibrations and energy becomes the carrier to help that intention manifest. Reiki is one such frequency of energy which is helpful in the process of healing.

3. What can be treated with Reiki?

Since Reiki works through the flow of energy, it can virtually help any condition including acute or chronic diseases and  pain. However these are some of the most frequently treated diseases :

  • High/Low Blood Pressure
  • Cardiac problems
  • Chronic Neck and Back Pain
  • Stress and Tension Related Disorder
  • Fear/Phobia
  • Migraines and Headaches
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Endocrine system dysfunction

4. What to expect in a typical Reiki session?

A typical Reiki session can last from 30 to 60 minutes. Occasionally, it goes up to 90 minutes too. The receiver remains fully clothed as he relaxes on the treatment table. The practitioner starts by gently putting his hands on seven energy centers  starting from crown, in a short session. In a full session, 24 different spots in the body are treated to improve the over-all flow of energy.

The practitioner is able to locate the blockages simply by the intensity of the flow of energy in his/her hands. Whenever the flow becomes strong it indicates weakness of that particular tissue. Normalization of that tissue can be achieved instantly or after a few sessions of treatment.

13. Who Can Learn Reiki?

Since no prior knowledge of the human anatomy or pathology is required, anybody can learn Reiki.

14. Is Reiki and Black Magic the same ?

No they are not. Reiki is a frequency of energy which doesn't have the capability to support negatively-intentioned vibrations.  Reiki frequency of energy is light in nature and high up in the cosmos where as black magic is performed using low/dense frequency of energy which is very gross/toxic in nature and close to the earth. Therefore Black magic is normally used to inflict harm and pain where as Reiki is used for healing and rejuvenation. It can be very easily stated that even though the practitioner intends to use it to harm the receiver, he cannot.

15. Can there be overdose of Reiki ?

No there is nothing like over-dose. More is better. If a particular organ requires 3 minutes where as the practitioner goes on for 5 minutes, the extra amount of energy flows back to its source where it comes from.
